Overview

Southeast Asia was struck by a devastating series of severe tropical storms in late 2025, affecting multiple countries across the region. Over 1,100 people lost their lives, with millions more displaced from their homes. Vietnam bore the brunt of the destruction, with catastrophic flooding and landslides cutting off remote communities for weeks. Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines also suffered significant damage from the storm systems. The cumulative impact was staggering, with hundreds of thousands of homes destroyed and critical infrastructure severely damaged across the region. Massive flooding submerged agricultural land, threatening food security for millions.
