Overview
On March 7, 2025, the cities of Bahía Blanca and Cerri in Argentina were hit with over a year's worth of rain in just eight hours. The deluge rapidly overwhelmed drainage systems and flooded the region, damaging roads, bridges, cars, housing, and critical infrastructure. Sixteen deaths were confirmed, with over 100 people still missing in the aftermath. The scale of destruction prompted a national emergency declaration. International relief organizations worked alongside Argentine civil defense to provide search and rescue, emergency shelter, and humanitarian supplies to affected residents.
